We are honored that one of our own, Raf Ceuls, has been asked to teach at the Interactive Multimedia Design (IMD) course of the bachelor Informationmanagement and Multimedia at Thomas More in Mechelen.

This school year one of our own, Raf Ceuls, has been asked to teach at the Interactive Multimedia Design (IMD) course of the bachelor Informationmanagement and Multimedia at Thomas More in Mechelen. Honored as we are to take part in the shaping of our future colleagues, we jumped at this opportunity. And of course, we are proud of Raf and excited about the learning experience he gets as well.

Raf is one of our .NET-developers, though he also knows his way around Java (see his blog on REST Documentation Java frameworks and LINQ and Streams). At Thomas More, he’ll be teaching the course “ASP.NET”, in which students learn the basics of ASP.NET MVC, a web application framework that makes the creation of interactive web pages a lot easier.

Given Raf’s experience in the field here at Foreach, he’ll be able to provide a kick-ass blend of theory and .NET practice. Think ASP.NET pages, Entity frameworks, LINQ, Razor syntax, and so on. His students will not only learn how to build C# interactive websites, but how to do so in accordance with the client’s wishes.

The collaboration between Foreach and Flemish IT colleges is nothing new. We already have students and recent graduates working in-house, and our recent experience – two interns who built our support platform – has proven to be a successful one once again. Cliché as it may be, young developers really are the future, and we are taking tangible steps to incorporate more young critical minds into our company culture.

While the number of IT graduates in Belgium is growing, it is still too low to meet the rising demand of the industry. If you are interested in studying Information Technology, or you know somebody who might, check out #WeAreIMD for more information.
